I tried your method but i cannot get past the write into NTFS drive because it gives me the "-bash: /etc/fstab: Permission denied" error. and also do the separeate step for the bootcamp installation.still not solve my problem. Piracy. I’ve tried several times in the last few days to set up a Windows 7 partition on an iMAC (osx 10.8.5). We used to image, but not many want a BootCamp setup anymore. I was thinking of reinstalling with the 32bit version but I thought 32bit couldnt run a lot of applications.

Try that first and comment back if you're having issues. In your case, you should already be good to go. Both of these functions can cause issues with Win 7 (you can search the forums for piles of these issues). I would recommend trying to: Remove/Delete the drivers in Windows Device Manager Insert or mount the OSX DVD or DMG Restart your system (booting into Windows).
