Take your test light and find a good ground and use the probe to alternately touch each of pins inside the connector. Brown goes in the left hole (the lights are marked). If it is a wiring problem, and not a hardware problem, replacing the whole light will not help as the malfunction is in the wiring. If you do not have the tow package, trace the wires back from the trailer connector, until you locate the converter. Check for the same thing as you did on the trunk end. There could be a number of issues causing the problem. And still no dang blinker!
