So let say your original caliper piston area is 1 square inch and your MC push rod area is .25 inch. Did you do it old fashioned with one person pushing the brake pedal while you open the bleeder? Correct, the resevoir was topped off every now and then during the bleeding process and I did have the resevoir cap closed until the pedal was fully released. so then I just pump and add brake fluid till all the air is out. Someone suggested gravity bleeding but I have yet had the time to try that out. Yet those bastards wanted to charge me $385 to replace washers and re-bleed the brakes.
You may have a bad Master Cylinder... But that is a story for another time...Long story short - I left the washers from the OLD calipers on the brake fluid line where it attaches to the calipers, and Sometimes if there are bubbles in the system, they come to the top this way.
